North Carolina Resident Sentenced on Bank Robbery Charge

CLARKSBURG, WV—A 25 year old Salisbury, North Carolina, resident was sentenced on October 5, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that JORDAN MICHAEL-SCOTT KARTER was sentenced to 37 months' imprisonment, to be served concurrently with the state sentence KARTER is serving for a robbery at the Huntington Bank in Fairmont, West Virginia. KARTER entered a plea of guilty on August 12, 2009, to one count of robbing a Suntrust Bank in Spencer, North Carolina, on June 12, 2008, by taking $1,074 from a bank employee by intimidation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Spencer, North Carolina, Police Department.
