Johnstown Woman Pleads Guilty in Crack Distribution Conspiracy
United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, September 16, 2009, that Christina L. Olson, a resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as "crack."
Olson, age 28, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson.
In connection with the guilty plea, Assistant United States Attorney John J. Valkovci, Jr., advised the court that from November 25, 2008, to March 20, 2009, Olson conspired with two co-defendants to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base.
Judge Gibson scheduled sentencing for January 19, 2010, at 10 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of life in prison, a fine of $4,000,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The Johnstown Police Department, the Cambria County Drug Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation/Laurel Highlands Residence Agency conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Olson.
