North Carolina Resident Enters Plea of Guilty to Bank Robbery

CLARKSBURG, WV—A 25 year old Salisbury, North Carolina, resident entered a plea of guilty on August 12, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that JORDAN MICHAEL-SCOTT KARTER entered a plea of guilty to one count of robbing a Suntrust Bank in Spencer, North Carolina, on June 12, 2008, by taking $1,074 from a bank employee by intimidation. KARTER is currently in the custody of the State of West Virginia serving a State sentence for a robbery at the Huntington Bank in Fairmont, West Virginia. KARTER faces a maximum exposure of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Spencer, North Carolina, Police Department.
