Cambria County Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of Child Pornography

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, August 12, 2009, that Frank H. Hill, of a resident of Northern Cambria, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court in Johnstown to a charge of possession of child pornography.

Hill, age 45, pleaded guilty before United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson.

In connection with the guilty plea, Assistant United States Attorney Stephanie L. Haines advised the court that between November 23, 2004, and January 3, 2005, Hill knowingly possessed visual depictions as computer graphic files that contained images of child pornography and which were produced using materials that had been mailed, shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.

Judge Gibson scheduled sentencing for December 10, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of ten years in prison, a fine of $250,000.00, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, and the Pennsylvania State Police, conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Hill.
