Erie Man Gets Three-Year Prison Sentence for Conspiring to Distribute Crack Cocaine
United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, May 11, 2009, that Shawn T. Howard, a resident of Erie, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced in federal court in Erie to thirty‑seven months in jail on his conviction of violating federal drug laws.
Senior United States District Judge Maurice B. Cohill, Jr. imposed the sentence on Howard, age 26.
According to information presented to the court by Assistant United States Attorney Marshall J. Piccinini, Howard and another co‑defendant conspired to possess with intent to distribute and distribute one ounce of crack cocaine.
Ms. Buchanan commended the EAGLE task force, which is comprised of members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office and the Erie Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Howard.
