MONROEVILLE MAN POSSESSED OBSCENE IMAGES OF CHILDREN

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, March 28, 2008, that Henry C. Kendall, a resident of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of possession of obscene images of children.

Kendall, age 46, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge David S. Cercone.

In connection with the guilty plea, Assistant United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman advised the court that on February 8, 2007, Kendall possessed obscene images which depict children engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Judge Cercone scheduled sentencing for Thursday, July 31, 2008, at 10:00 a.m.  The law provides for a total sentence of ten (10) years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both.  Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The United States Postal Inspection Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Monroeville Police Department  conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Henry C. Kendall.
