Moatsville Resident Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 56 year old Moatsville, West Virginia, resident was named in an Indictment returned on March 5, 2008, by a Federal Grand Jury sitting in Clarksburg, West Virginia.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that DAVID WAYN CAMERON was named in a one-count Indictment. The Indictment alleges that CAMERON knowingly possessed a computer disk and other material containing images of child pornography that had been shipped in interstate commerce on August 22,2007, in Grafton, West Virginia.

If convicted, CAMERON faces a maximum exposure of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

It should be noted that the charges contained in the Indictment are merely accusations and not evidence of guilt, and that each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
